About us

About Wild Wood Activities:

Wild Wood Activities was set up in August 2008 by Lauren Stevens with support from The Princes Trust. Lauren visits her business mentor on a regular basis, usually smelling of wood smoke and covered in mud! Lauren is passionate about sharing her love of nature and the woodland with as many people as possible whether through offering projects, training or family days. She is committed to providing everyone with a chance to experience the inspirational environment of their local woods.

Wild Wood Activities offers the highest quality professional service. All activities and sites used by Wild Wood Activities are fully risk assessed and there is always a First Aid kit available on site. All tools and equipment are maintained to a high standard. Wild Wood Activities works on a variety of woodland sites throughout Derbyshire and beyond, as well as offering activities on school grounds.

About Lauren Stevens:

Lauren’s love of the environment has been fuelled by her worldwide wanderings which have seen her working in a nature reserve in Ecuador, trekking in the remote Himalayas and travelling through Zambia and Botswana with a group of young people as an Assistant Leader for World Challenge. Lauren has worked with BTCV, the National Trust, Groundworks and the Peak Park Youth Rangers project. She trained as a Forest School leader with Archimedes Training in 2005 and has never looked back!

Lauren is a qualified Community and Youth Worker and is fully insured and Outdoor First Aid Qualified. Lauren is currently doing her Mountain Leader qualification and is also a keen scuba diver!
